| 2.34.09.010 | General Admissions Standards for Matriculation into Undergraduate Degree Programs |
| First-time-in-any-college Applicants: | |
| 2.34.09.020 | • An applicant who presents an overall high school grade point average of 2.75 (based on a 4.0 scale) will be admitted. |
| 2.34.09.030 | An applicant who presents an overall high school grade point average of 2.0 or better, but less than 2.75, must submit acceptable test results from the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) before being admitted. On the ACT, a composite score of 21 or higher is required; on the SAT, minimum scores of 530 Verbal and 440 Mathematics are required.1 |
| 2.34.09.040 | Transfer Applicants.2 A transfer applicant, regardless of high school record, may be admitted upon completion of at least twelve (12) semester of sixteen (16) quarter credit hours of transferable college-level work from an accredited collegiate institution with an overall grade point average of 2.0. If the applicant has fewer than 12 semester or 16 quarter hours, the applicant shall be admitted provided provisions 2.34.09.020 or 2.34.09.030 are met. |
| 2.34.09.050 | Internal Transfer Applicants from Special Status Programs. After consultation with the appropriate faculty bodies, the President or his/her designee may establish benchmarks for attainment in Wayne State University Special Status admission programs operating pursuant to Section 2.34.09.080 of this Statute, the fulfilling of which will constitute satisfaction of the academic requirements for admissibility to matriculate in an undergraduate degree program. |
| 2.34.09.060 | University Studies/Weekend College. Students must have earned a high school diploma or completed a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and must be at least 21 years of age or have graduated from high school at least four years previously. Students who have completed an Associate degree or its equivalent are admissible without respect to age, diploma/GED, and time requirements. |
| 2.34.09.070 | The President or his/her designee is authorized to grant a limited number of exceptions to any of the above admissions categories, under extraordinary circumstances. |
| 2.34.09.080 | Special Status Admissions |
| After consultation with the College or School establishing the program, the President or his/her designee may designate categories of non-matriculant Special Status admission, such as, but not limited to, College of Lifelong Learning non-matriculant students, Post-degree students, and Chicano-Boricua Program students. | |

| After consultation with the College or School, the President or his/her designee is authorized to establish specific admissions standards for degree programs. | |
