Sunny Reddy is a dedicated leader with a strong commitment to advancing education and fostering community resilience. Elected to the Wayne State University Board of Governors in 2024, Sunny is passionate about ensuring the university provides accessible, affordable, and unbiased education while cultivating excellence in all aspects of student life.

A successful entrepreneur and philanthropist, Sunny has made a significant impact through his leadership in disaster relief initiatives. Working closely with the American Red Cross, he played an instrumental role in raising critical funds for relief efforts during major disasters, including Hurricane Harvey in Houston (2017), the Kentucky tornadoes (2021), and the recent hurricane in Florida (2024). These efforts underscore Sunny’s unwavering commitment to supporting communities in times of need.

As a Board of Trustees member for the American Telugu Association, Sunny has led initiatives benefiting diverse communities, further highlighting his dedication to public service. He is also a staunch advocate for fostering alumni engagement at Wayne State University, recognizing the value of mentorship and career guidance for current students. By building bridges and forming partnerships, Sunny seeks to elevate Wayne State’s stature as a leader in higher education. Sunny resides in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where he celebrates the state’s vibrant cultural diversity and frequently engages with local faith and cultural organizations.
